According to a report from MMAfighting.com, Lorenzo Hunt, the ex-champion of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC), has been handed an 18-month suspension and a $40,000 fine following a positive drug test for a banned substance and elevated testosterone levels. The suspension and fine were imposed during a California State Athletic Commission meeting in June, following Hunt's fight at BKFC KnuckleMania 4 in April. The fine amounts to 40% of Hunt's $100,000 fight purse. In addition to these penalties, Hunt is required to pay $500 for the drug test and must provide the commission with six negative full WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) panel drug tests at his own expense before he is eligible to fight in the state again. Documentation from the California State Athletic Commission, provided to MMAfighting.com, revealed that Hunt tested positive for trenbolone metabolite epitrenbolone, an anabolic steroid, and had an alarmingly high testosterone ratio of 172:1, far exceeding the conventional threshold of 4:1.
