Stamp Finds Her Fire

Stamp Fairtex answered the biggest question of her Bangkok night, but not with a simple exclamation point. The former three-sport ONE World Champion defeated Selina Flores by split decision in the main event of ONE Fight Night 47. It was Stamp's second straight win, and ONE lists her striking record at 66 wins and 18 losses after the bout.

The result fits where her career stands. After the long meniscus issue, this was not only about winning again in front of a home crowd. Stamp had to show whether she could work freely in a real, tight Muay Thai fight before choosing between another striking run and a credible return to MMA.

Flores made it close

Flores was not decoration for a home show. The American is a two-time WBC Muay Thai World Champion and brought exactly the tools that can bother Stamp after an injury layoff: range, teeps, counters and the willingness to keep the fight uncomfortable until the final minute.

Stamp started as the more active fighter. ONE described body kicks, punches and knees from the clinch as her early weapons, while Flores struggled to establish her trademark front kick in the opening round. The fight opened up in the second. Stamp countered low kicks with her right kick and straight right, but Flores found more of her own offense as the round developed.

The third round mattered

The decision tightened in round three. Stamp evaded, attacked the body and answered cleanly enough to pull the close scorecards her way. Flores still stayed in the fight, worked from the pocket and threw a spinning back elbow that missed its target.

That is why the split decision carries more value than a wide points win over limited resistance. Stamp looked looser again, but she also had to solve an opponent who was not removed from the fight by name value, crowd energy or early scoring moments. That matters more for her next step than any simple comeback framing.

MMA remains open

ONE explicitly left open after the fight whether Stamp will return to MMA next or continue in Muay Thai. That is where the sporting tension sits. In MMA, the knee, trust in direction changes and explosiveness in wrestling exchanges would be watched even more closely. In Muay Thai, the faster question is whether the Flores win is enough to move her toward another title push.

Flores lost the biggest ONE opportunity of her career so far, but she lost it narrowly. Her performance still showed that her style can hold up against one of the organization's best-known names. Taking Stamp to a split decision is not a breakthrough by itself. It is, however, solid evidence that she belongs in serious atomweight Muay Thai conversations.

Undercard produced clear statements

The card had substance below the main event as well. Ricardo Bravo stopped Mohamed Younes Rabah at 2:58 of round one, Jordan Estupinan beat Jaosuayai by decision, and Elmehdi El Jamari finished Ngoc Phu Nguyen by TKO at 2:42 of the first round. In submission grappling, Pawel Jaworski forced Rafael Lovato Jr. to tap to a kneebar after 1:51.

Still, the night belongs to Stamp. She did not solve everything, but she showed more rhythm, courage and variety against a serious opponent. For ONE, that is better news than a frictionless tune-up. A cautious Stamp would be a name. A braver Stamp is once again a sporting option.
