UFC 334 now has two title fights. Ciryl Gane will defend the heavyweight championship against Josh Hokit on November 14 at Madison Square Garden. In the other title fight, bantamweight champion Kayla Harrison meets returning former two-division champion Amanda Nunes.
The UFC made both matchups official during the UFC 331 broadcast. For the heavyweight division, it is the first concrete title solution after Tom Aspinall vacated the belt. Gane enters as undisputed champion, while Hokit receives his first title shot after four straight UFC wins.
Aspinall's vacancy reshapes heavyweight
Aspinall relinquished the title because of ongoing eye problems. In his statement, he said a planned return was delayed again after another training injury. He said he did not want to keep the division waiting.
That moves Gane from interim to undisputed champion. The sporting context remains tense: his no contest with Aspinall at UFC 321 came after eye pokes, so their direct comparison never produced a clean ending. Hokit now arrives as an unbeaten challenger in a title picture that has accelerated quickly.
Harrison gets Nunes immediately
The co-main event is more than a routine title defence. Harrison makes the first defence of her bantamweight belt against the defining figure of modern women's MMA. Nunes will fight for the first time in more than three years.
The matchup has long been one of the division's biggest unanswered questions. Harrison entered the UFC as a two-time Olympic judo champion and former PFL titleholder, while Nunes returns as a former double champion. For Harrison, it is the fastest possible legitimacy test; for Nunes, it is a direct route back into her old division.

UFC 334 is scheduled for November 14 in New York. The event page lists Madison Square Garden, with the main card set for 9 p.m. local time in the United States. The rest of the lineup can still change before fight night, but the two title fights already give the card a clear sporting spine.
