Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson, widely regarded as the greatest flyweight in MMA history, has announced his retirement at the age of 38. The reigning ONE FC Flyweight Champion leaves the sport with an impressive record of 25 wins, 4 losses, and 1 draw.
Johnson's illustrious career spans two major promotions. He held the UFC Flyweight Championship from 2012 to 2018 before moving to ONE FC in 2019. There, he quickly made his mark, winning the Flyweight World Championship in 2019 and again in 2022, with his last successful title defense in May 2023.
When asked about his future plans by ONE FC ring announcer Dom Lau, Johnson revealed a new passion: "I've fallen in love with jiu-jitsu. I absolutely love it. It's all I think about, it's all I watch. It's kind of my new passion." He didn't rule out the possibility of participating in a grappling match with ONE FC in the future.
Outside the cage, "Mighty Mouse" continues to engage with fans through his YouTube channel, where he posts interviews, reaction videos, and gaming content.
As Johnson closes this chapter of his career, his legacy as one of MMA's most dominant champions remains intact.
