Jon Jones is now officially a co-owner of the combat sports league Dirty Boxing Championship (DBX). TMZ Sports confirmed the news on Friday. The 37-year-old has signed a deal securing him a stake in the up-and-coming promotion.
"I was hooked from the first show. I believe this is going to be a powerhouse of combat sports. I'm proud to sign my name next to it." Jones said about the partnership.
Dirty Boxing was launched in 2024 by Mike Perry, along with Abdi and Malki Kawa – longtime managers of Jones (CS.C reported on this). His involvement with the league, therefore, comes as no surprise.
The league’s first official event, DBX 1, takes place this Saturday in Miami. The card features Yoel Romero vs. Ras Hylton and Andrei Arlovski vs. Terrance Hodges. Jones is expected to attend, along with other well-known figures such as Paige VanZant and musician Nicky Jam.
The DBX rule set differs significantly from traditional boxing. In addition to standard punches, fighters are allowed to use elbows, spinning backfists, Superman punches, and standing ground-and-pound. Bouts are fought with small gloves.
DBX 1 will be streamed live and free across all of the promotion’s official platforms:
