DWCS Hands Out Five Contracts

Dana White signed all five winners after Week 4 of Dana White's Contender Series Season 10. The season has now produced 20 UFC contracts through four Tuesday nights. For a show designed to test prospects and immediately sort them into the roster, that is more than a useful mid-season statistic.

The September 1 card at Meta APEX in Las Vegas delivered four stoppages and one close split decision. UFC listed Adam Darby, Modestino Rodrigues, Silvestre Sanchez, Gabriel Lorenco and Adam Livingston as the contract winners. The group is varied enough to matter: a Cage Warriors welterweight, two Brazilian finishers, a Mexican lightweight and an American who returned after an earlier Contender Series appearance.

Darby uses his range

In the main event, Adam Darby stopped Patrick Rivera by doctor stoppage at 2:42 of the third round. UFC described the Irish welterweight as a long-range fighter who established his jab, kicks and straight punches early. Rivera stayed dangerous enough to keep Darby honest defensively, but the damage had built clearly through two rounds.

That makes the win more useful than a single wild finish. Darby showed a transferable profile: distance, repetition, patience and then pressure toward the stoppage. Performances like that are easier to map into UFC matchmaking than a quick moment without a wider read.

Rodrigues needs 15 seconds

Modestino Rodrigues produced the loudest statement of the night. The Brazilian middleweight rushed Brandon Holmes and won by TKO in 15 seconds. UFC called it the fastest victory of his career and his fifth straight knockout. In the Contender Series format, where attention is limited, that kind of result travels.

Gabriel Lorenco also delivered an early heavyweight finish. He stopped Charlie Cleveland at 2:02 of the first round by knockout after elbows and hammerfists. That gives him the immediate trait matchmakers notice in heavier divisions: he does not need a long fight to create a finish.

Sanchez wins the fight

The most complete sporting win may have belonged to Silvestre Sanchez. Against Liam McCracken, the Mexican lightweight had to solve resistance rather than simply start fast. McCracken answered with a jab, movement and scrambles, but Sanchez kept applying pressure before finishing by TKO at 2:44 of the third round. For a UFC debut, that kind of win can be more valuable than a clean short night because it already asked questions about stamina, adjustment and durability.

Adam Livingston received the fifth contract after a split decision over Hunter Smith. UFC listed the scorecards as 29-28, 28-29 and 29-28. It was the only fight to go the distance, but it was not quiet. Livingston landed flashy kicks early, Smith fought back through pressure, and the third round stayed competitive. White's decision to sign him fits the shape of the night: performance and risk mattered more than finish percentage alone.

The season tightens

Season 10 is moving toward record territory after four weeks, but Contender Series contracts are entry points, not rankings positions. Still, 20 early signings change the lower end of several divisions. New welterweights, middleweights, lightweights and heavyweights arrive without star status, but with fresh momentum and a clear first selling point.

That is the UFC's practical gain from the show. It does not just add names to the roster; it gives each arrival an initial frame. Darby is the measured range fighter, Rodrigues the 15-second finisher, Lorenco the Brazilian heavyweight puncher, Sanchez the fighter who can solve a hard fight, and Livingston the returnee who edged a close one. From here, the signature matters less than whether those roles hold up against UFC depth.
