GLORY Rivals: A New Route for Kickboxing Prospects

GLORY is bringing back its Rivals series with a clearer purpose. Working alongside regional promoters, the format will present emerging kickboxers to a larger audience. The relaunch begins on November 28, 2026, when GLORY joins RingFight Promotions at Maaspoort in Den Bosch.

Rivals therefore occupies the space between regional events and GLORY's major cards. It gives prospects a place to make their case, but it is not a published qualification league. GLORY has not announced fixed selection criteria, automatic contracts or guaranteed promotion for event winners.

From cross-promotion to prospect platform

When GLORY first announced Rivals in 2022, the central idea was competition between different organisations. Partnerships with Enfusion and RISE created matchups between athletes from separate rosters. Five Rivals events were staged in Europe, Japan and Mexico through January 2023.

The language surrounding the 2026 relaunch is different. GLORY explicitly refers to up-and-coming talent and rising prospects, while RingFight Promotions describes an opportunity for ambitious athletes outside the GLORY roster. The emphasis has shifted from organisational rivalry towards a showcase for the next career step.

The original series shows what that visibility can lead to. Tariq Osaro and Deniz Demirkapu both appeared at GLORY Rivals 3 in 2022. Osaro later established himself near the top of GLORY's heavyweight division, while Demirkapu is set to challenge for the featherweight title at GLORY 110. That does not prove an automatic pathway, but it demonstrates the level of development that can follow a Rivals appearance.

Another layer in the GLORY system

GLORY has recently broadened its event structure. Numbered shows form the regular core, while COLLISION is reserved for the largest arenas. Proving Grounds bouts allow fighters to make their case for Grand Prix places. Rivals sits earlier in the process, alongside regional partners and athletes who are still trying to reach an international GLORY card.

For regional promotions, the model connects their development work to the reach of an international brand. GLORY, meanwhile, can widen its search for talent without staging every developmental event by itself. It is a logical division of roles, although the relaunch still has to show how regularly it will be used.

Four bouts confirmed for GLORY Rivals 6

Four matchups are currently listed for GLORY Rivals 6. Tayfun Özcan faces Anouar Afakir at lightweight, while Nick Regter meets Youssef Khalouta at welterweight. Anwar Dira takes on Chahid Hammouti at middleweight, and Ali Cenik faces Mo Amine at light heavyweight.

The card also shows that Rivals is not simply a beginners' series. It combines regional names with fighters who already have GLORY experience. The real test will be whether strong performances lead visibly to further bookings on numbered events, in the Proving Grounds or in a Grand Prix.

Access for German prospects remains undefined

The relaunch is relevant to the German kickboxing scene. Den Bosch is geographically close, and regional careers frequently run through the Dutch market. However, GLORY has not announced a German promotional partner, an application process or a fixed selection route. Rivals is therefore an additional opportunity, not yet a predictable career plan.

The first event will show whether Rivals can become a dependable pathway. If regional performances translate into visible opportunities on larger GLORY cards and more partners join the series, it can provide a level international kickboxing often lacks: a clear bridge between the local main event and the global stage.
