Ringlife vs Schober: Stand & Bang

Edmon “Ringlife” Avagyan enters the cage at OKTAGON 94 in Frankfurt on Saturday, September 26. His opponent Dominic Schober has 31 professional MMA bouts behind him. This is not an MMA fight, however: the pair will meet at an agreed 80 kg limit under Stand & Bang rules. That distinction is central to the matchup.

Experience that cannot be compared directly

Avagyan is widely known as a combat-sports creator, but he is not new to boxing. After years as an amateur, he won his professional boxing debut against Patrik Fiala by knockout in May 2026. Schober, an Austrian training at Vienna’s GYM 23, has a 16-15 professional MMA record. Those 31 bouts demonstrate competitive experience, but they are not a record in the ruleset he will face here.

What Stand & Bang changes

Kicks and ground fighting are out. The fighters will strike in a cage with small MMA gloves; according to RTL/ntv’s account of this particular ruleset, elbows and strikes in the clinch are allowed. Five three-minute rounds are scheduled. Schober cannot use wrestling or ground fighting as he would in MMA. Avagyan, meanwhile, must adapt his boxing to smaller gloves and different distances.

Avagyan told RTL/ntv that an OKTAGON appearance had been discussed more than once. For his promotional debut he is facing a professional fighter rather than another creator. Schober must show how much of his cage experience carries over to these restricted rules. The existing records alone do not settle that question.
