Diallo arrives in Saxony-Anhalt at 13-2. He won an IBF Youth title at welterweight in 2025 and is now moving up one division. The IBF Youth belt at super welterweight is vacant.
At the pre-fight press conference, Diallo made clear that he intends to leave with both belts. Vogel described the former IBF Youth champion as a strong opponent.
Vogel has changed training camps for this fight and now works with Georg Bramowski. At the press conference, he spoke of fresh motivation and new impulses. Whether the change pays off against an opponent with youth-title experience will be decided in the ring.
Victory would give Vogel two youth belts in the same division. That would mark progress, but it would not make him a full senior world champion. The significance for his longer-term career will also depend on the opponents he faces next.
In the other headline bout, Artur Reis returns to super middleweight against Ismail Airoud for the vacant WBC International Silver title. Heavyweight Michel Dobler faces Srdan Govedarica in his first scheduled eight-round professional contest. Sixteen-year-old Arminius Rolle meets Amijan Sepic for the International German super lightweight championship. Paul Schmidt, initially announced for the show, is out through illness according to SES's latest update.
The Ballhaus Arena show starts at 6 p.m. local time. MDR plans to begin its TV coverage at around 10:30 p.m.; SES also lists streams on ARD Mediathek and sportschau.de. The relevant ticket offer for fans attending in person is linked directly to this article.
