Back after the title-fight knockout

Palokaj lost to Mago Machaev by knockout 2:34 into the first round in Cologne in July. Machaev had missed weight and relinquished the featherweight belt before the fight; OKTAGON currently lists the title as vacant. Palokaj's record now stands at 13–4. Fighting before his home crowd gives him a chance to show where he stands against another top-four opponent.

Mohsen has won twice in OKTAGON

Mohsen is 15–4 and has won both his fights for the promotion. He beat Samuel Bark by decision in January, then knocked out Richie Smullen 2:19 into the first round in June. Seven of Mohsen's wins came by KO or TKO, and five by submission. By contrast, all four of Palokaj's OKTAGON wins before the Machaev loss went the distance.

A direct test near the top

The matchup is a direct test near the top of the division. Palokaj wants to rebound from his first OKTAGON defeat; Mohsen can strengthen his position by beating a former title challenger. OKTAGON 97 takes place at ZAG Arena. In the main event, Max Holzer challenges Igor Severino for the bantamweight title; read our Holzer vs Severino preview.
